I've owned wetsuits most of my life. Started surfing when I was 7, divng at 16, avid diver for the last 2 years. Not only does peeing in your wetsuit make your wetsuit AND YOU smell like urine between dives but, it shortens the life of your wetsuit too. It took me a long time to break the habit years ago.

If you flush out your fluids before leaving the water I find this avoids the suit smelling or you. Also if you are hydrated, urine shouldn't smell anyway. If you're really dehydrated it will pong more.
If it is warm enough, I never get out of the water before opening up my suit if I have peed in it and flushing out everything.
My shorty is 3 years old and smells as fresh as a fresh thing.
If I pee in my thicker suit and it is too cold to flush well in the water at then end of the dive, I peel it off and wash it straight away after rinsing it in the sea. That suit is about 5 years old and the crotch area looks fine and so does the rest of the suit.
I have probably dived in both of my suits about 100 times each and I snorkel in my shorty all the time.
I don't belive it's a bad thing to do for me or my suit - so on with the show!

Well of course I pee in my wetsuit and do so every chance I get. Heck I'll even hold it until I get in the water. I guess it's some sort of fetish thing. :wacko:

You're right, that ordor is there, and lingers with the suit until you clean it next.
the same goes with whatever you're wearing underneath the suit.
It becomes a legacy.

No, sex is the last thing on my mind when I'm peeing in my wetsuit...relief is the first. Rules out the fetish aspect.

I usually hold off peeing in my wetsuit if I physically can (rubber band somethies helps) - I much prefer to pee on my wetsuit after I get out of the water, then everyone can join in.... I was always told to share.
