Do you have to dive doubles in NC?

Say in the Hatteras area. As a female I do use less air than some, but I am just wondering. Do most of the dives in the Outer Banks require doubles?

No, you can use singles there. If you do not use much gas than just use a steel 95.

Should be more than enough if your only going to 130 or less.

Agree with curt.....I dive mostly out of wilmington and have never seen doubles. Most of the dives in that area are above the 130 depth.

This year I used single HP 120s for my trip to Hatteras. I'll be using them again later this month in Morehead. Last year I used single AL 100s for my NC trips.

There may be alot of people on the boat with doubles (depending on where you dive), but you don't need them.

I didn't use doubles on my recent trip -- just my old trusty 80s.

You don't NEED them for the recreational stuff. However, a lot of people (myself included) dive them anyway.

hears the simple version , most female use allot less air than us Guys , just a fact , most guys should prombly use at less 100 for most dives off the coast.
but to be honest , doubles are nice , but having extra air and extra bottom time can get you in trouble , if your not carefull .
like watching your time , gas ect going into deco .
I can honestly say most charters dont mind doubles but they want to now your time limit ect and really feel more comfortable with singles.
