mattboy:I was thinking of having my backplate checked for metal fatigue. They're running a special, it's only $99 at my LDS.
huskychemist:I do...but mine has an Air2 attached, so it gets the regular yearly regulator service. A friend of mine had his serviced (even without considering the Air2 service) due to his dump valves not functioning properly. They ended up finding a small hole in his BC. Could he have found it using the "Catherine96821" method? Probably...but having the dump valves fixed was worthwhile.
Figuring out how to unscrew your dump valves is a pretty good skill to learn. Not only does it let you inspect the dump valve, it also is an easy way to get water in and out to rinse the bladder.huskychemist:A friend of mine had his serviced (even without considering the Air2 service) due to his dump valves not functioning properly.
