I don't know who I trust less, the government or the terrorist.

Actually, the people that scare me the MOST, are people who are so brainwashed, they are convinced turning over our personal freedoms is perfectly reasonable.

THAT scares me, because we never really though we would be overtaken "like that"

We lived in fear of the Soviets, the terrorists, all sorts of entities. But, we will eventually be overruled and dominated from within. The nannies will rule our destinies, without a drop of blood lost or even the opportunity to fight, like a titrated, lethal, paralyzing injection of narcotic.

It is happening incrementally, in tiny little daily justifications. It's the stuff of science fiction! It gives me the creeps more than any other thing. I am fighting it the best way I can, every day. The biggest challenge is not becoming so radical, nobody listens.

Like the boat comment...people honestly can't discern a threat if it bit them on the butt. They don't really process any more, that's the government's job to make enough rules. (shudder)

We call them Canadians.

Nemrod:
I would thank them for watching my boat and send them along, why is it their buisness? The government is getting more and more intrusive.

Not sure why they do it, but I watched them tear a new ****ole in a boat owner when he finally came back from his dive.

Well said, Catherine. I couldn't agree more. The same/similar discussion is happening on this thread, as well.

Don't know how true this tale is but years ago I heard about a guy diving solo at Pelican Flats off Cape Canaveral...water there run 80 to 130ft. Well, on his way up, he saw his boat passing him on it's way down

The idea that terrosrist will soon purchase Boston Whalers and load them with explosives to attack passing Bayliners is absurd and exactly why we need to say NO to the government more than we do. Let's see, maybe scuba divers with double tanks are actually loading explosives in one of the tanks or maybe jet ski riders are actually sucide bombers with explosive lifejackets? I understand why and how we need to have certain restircted areas but this broad restriction of our rights is out of control. I heard an actual Coast Guard spokeman say that we need to be watchful of scuba divers dressed in black--wow--that is everybody!

Let's see, on any Sunday in America on any waterway you can encounter local police in their department Bayliner, Sherrif's Patrol, Game Wardens/Dept. of Resources, State Police, BATF/Homeland Security and the Coast Guard. If that is not a police state then what is? Heil Homeland, Heil. Soon we will be stopped to check that our papers are in order. Next the government will certify sanity. They will stamp 666 on the forehead and hand of sane people to signify their sanity and proper completion and answers to their state mandated sanity test.

It's a weekly occurrence down here in South Florida, a load of illegal immigrants pulls up on the beach. Homeland security is a joke. They spend their time bothering legal US citizens. They can do nothing to stop illegals from pulling up on the beach of a major metropolitan area in a 40-50 foot boat. The load has been illegal immigrants to date, who knows what the next boat will have on it. They can make a big show of making life difficult for US citizens but can't stop the illegal boats from reaching US shores every week.

I suspect they have other things to worry about than a handful of Cubans who will work their butts off doing jobs the Americans don't want.

Look Illegals show up in four overturned refrigerators , a couple of 4x8 sheets of plywood for a deck and a lawn umbrella for a sail ...you have a $65,000.00 Boston Whaler ...guess who gets boarded and searched for safty issues. You ...cause you can afford the fine and thus justify the "alphebet authorities" existance. Its just the way it is. Cops pull over speeding Mercedes and BMWs and Excursions on our freeways relentlesly ...how many times do you see a 72' F100 weaving inbetween lanes @ 90 m/h ever get pulled over ...he can't afford the $271 speeding ticket.

At some point all these agencies need to suppliment their budgets and justify their existance. Problem is most law abidding boatowners get tired of the harassment. I know I avoid the inconvience as much as possible.

I dive from my boat without a tender everytime. It's just the chance I take to enjoy the sport. Besides who wants to sit on a rolling deck for an hour in the blazing sun while divers are down...that would have to be a very dedicated friend.

My dad threw a major hissy trying to re-enter Florida from the Bahamas on his boat and loudly refused to pay the "re-entry tax", shouting expletives about having to pay to return to his own country when illegals do not have to pay. They just let him go....some people they just don't know what to do with.

There is no way to be "normal" having been raised by him. At least I don't have gun safes disguised as sofas and Krugerrand gold coins hidden in the basement. :D
Don't drink the kool-aide, just swish it around a little.
