I've made some backplates. Like most DIY projects, just for the hell of it.

I've made a number of DIY modifications for various gear. Here are 3.

One is a way to attach DUI zip seals to the Sitech dry gloves, so that you can dress without having the DUI dry gloves already on.

I made a modification to my crotch strap double "D" rings, so that I could reach them as I sidemount my BO bottles.

I also mount my O2 bottle and vest heater battery canister to my backplate. I used some bronze snap-apart hinges (made for boats) to make a quick disconnect for each.

I guess the more you're in this stuff the more DIY you do.

larry will have to post the pics, but he's made his & my sidemount helmets. mine was a barbie bike helmet from wally world, and has pink lights mounted on it. he also made me a fauxmad which generally works great now that some bugs have been killed. jason b made my spring straps & pink o2 analyzer, known as 'marci's pink box'. kracken made my al plate with custom 'baby duck' on the front.

bobby f made xenia a neat bottle carrier - it's sorta two straps like from a duffle or luggage connected together so she can carry tanks with the weight on her shoulders instead of her hands.

Heated vest out of snowmobile seat heaters (~55W total). I'm not sure if I really have pics, haven't needed it in awhile and the suit port is no good anymore anyway (not to mention the whole suit is worn out).

Tail-weight.

Fill panel and mixing stick for my compressor.

Argon booster from a hydraulic cylinder.

Designed the tank rack for my RIB, but had it fabricated by the boat builder.

I'm sure there's other stuff, but these came to mind.
