I just happened to catch a commercial for a home use oxygen concentrator for medical use. It would appear to be a membrane system much like those used to produce nitrox.

The specs say 14-21 PSI but that makes no sense. Otherwise it sounds like a "high pressure" fill.

Has anyone used one of these to preload cylinders with O2 so a dive shop would unknowingly top them off with air for a nitrox final mix? It's nothing I have a need for or interst in doing but it just seems too irresistable for freqent nitrox DIY types. I recognize the letting a shop unkowingly hook up to a high % oxygen fill could be dangerous. Just a curiosity.

I was also surprised to see the same technology turned inside out at the tire shop. For nitrogen fills they do an air fill then begin exchanging the tire air extracting more oxygen with each cycle.

I had an O2 concentrator, I never thought of using it to for O2 in my tanks. 1) it doesn't come out at enough pressure, 2) There isn't enough volume and 3) the person using it needed the O2 to breathe

i hope this post would be answered, i was wondering the same thing pal..
