It seems there's not much on this forum about the great diving around the UK waters, so I thought I'd share some of my trip experiences with you all.

A couple of weeks ago my husband and I, joined up with some guys from our local dive club (in the land locked midlands) headed up to the north coast to the Farne Islands, Northumberland.

We had two days of two tank rib dives around the Farne Islands. These islands are colonies for grey seals and numerous sea birds.

As we approached each dive site hundreds of curious seals would slip off the rocks into the water - their little heads popping out the surface like telescopes to see what we were doing.

As we rolled off the rib and descended it was not long before we were joined by the seals - 3 or 4 at one time. Swimming around us, twisting, turning, nibbling at our fins. We had some great interactions.

One curious young seal came up so close to the camera it pressed it's nose against the lens :) another larger 8ft bull seal literally hugged my husband!

As we prepared to ascend and deployed our SMB's the seals would swim up and down the line playing with the big orange balloon on the surface.

All in all some fantastic dives - well recommended!

I Was their at the weekend =) It really is a great dive site and one i would recommend =) And parts of the islands are so sheltered that if you have fair amount of local knolage you just about always get a dive!
