50m: will probably flood sooner rather than later
100m: 50/50 chance of flooding or never flooding
200m: pretty reliable for recreational diving


now that i think about it, mine was 100m
 
I wouldn't be surprised if Timex writes in their little instruction sheet that the watch shouldn't be used for diving simply because it's shorter than writing that diving requires proper training and a whole bunch of stuff that costs way more than the watch. Though granted I think they do have a watch they deem adequate for diving, but not the $30 ones, cause those extra letters about getting training are expensive. ;)

My 10-12 year-old Ironman recently went on its first, and so far only, dive to 50ft and it's still ticking, but after being opened at least 5 times for battery changes and to be reset (they can crash apparently), I'm not sure I'd trust it enough to not have a backup timer. ... that's not to say I won't dive with it though.
