You say that chimps don't have sex for fun? Huh? They most certainly do have sex for fun, and it takes only one viewing of the "monkey business" cage to see the facts!

A number of varieties of chimpanzees engage in male-male, female-female, and male-infertile juvenile sexual behavior. This does not appear to be linked to breeding, but rather to such community building factors as bonding & conflict-resolution.

To say that creatures like primates & cetaceans have sex for "fun" is of course anthropomorphic as we have no way factually determining this, but observation does suggest that something about such behavior is reinforcing.
