This is a video I put together from a dive this past weekend. It takes a slightly more artistic look at diving under the ice.

Obviously diving under the ice is not for everyone, but with the right equipment and training it can be a very beautiful environment.

That was very cool. The long stream of bubble coming off the diver connecting to the surface was a sweet shot.

Not being one that prefers water that cold, I have to admit it sure looks like fun. Thanks for the video, Mat.

Freaks me out to see you guys without safety lines and stuff. I also don't really get why you'd need stages for such dives? Anyway, the video is pretty!

This post is in the technical diving section because this was not done using recreational techniques with tethers, but more using cave techniques with an enormous gas reserve and backup. There were guide lines in place to say the least and we were never far from an alternate emergency exit.

Thanks for your comments about the video. It was a very nice day to get a dive under the ice. Glad you liked it.

Yeah, nice video...liked the hands playing with the air. Morrison Quarry gives great shots.

Awesome video. The footage was really great.
