I see a lot of recommendations for various dive locations around the globe, but rarely see Tobago mentioned.

And, to be fair, it was never on my radar either.

Just returned from my third dive trip down to Speyside with Tobago Dive Experience and each visit has been just as amazing as the last.

So many dives sites in one area with an absolutely beautiful reef system teaming with life.

I threw together a quick video of my first two trips.

If you get the chance, I highly recommend checking it out.
Fly into Trinidad (POS) and then a 20-minute puddle jump to Tobago. Then it's about an hour drive to Speyside on the NE end of the island.

Happy Diving!

I went back through my notes and I've dove/dived there January, April, June, and August - in fact, I'm in Trinidad right now - and the conditions are very consistent. Temps dropped about 5+ degrees in the "winter", but otherwise, vis was consistently good to great. Temps were warm-ish. 80+

Thanks for the follow-up. Planning to go in a few months.

Look into Tobago Dive Experience. They have the dive shop, restaurant, and hotel all on site.
Speyside has, what I consider to be the best diving on the island.
Hit me up if you have additional questions and when you come back - I'd like to hear how it went.

That's the shop I was considering. I'm now trying to decide whether to stay at the Manta Lodge or the Manta Suites.

I stay at the hotel/apartments at the dive shop - Speyside Inn. Contact Kathleen and she can get you setup. You can also look at Blue Waters Inn. We often pick dives up from there before heading out to the dive sites.

Not impressed, diving without a wetsuit? How long did they last 20 minutes? I also would never dive with a selfie stick.

Thank you for sharing the video. I saw this video in YouTube about 10month ago.
How is the food? Are there nearby restaurants to choose from? How long is the boat ride from dock to reef? How many dive sites? How deep are the dive sites? Are there wreck sites? Boat ride includes water/soda?
