Hi Team,

Just wanted to start a thread on diving in Idaho and surrounds. I just got lit back up on diving this year after a short trip to Costa Rica. I fell in love with the sport when I was 13 and was convinced I would be the next Jaques Cousteau. Got certified at 13, dove all over Texas, went to Hawaii, and took an advanced/rescue class in college. Post college I veered left and got into the mountains and away from the coast. I was still able to get some diving in in Thailand and again in Australia. I've been back to Hawaii and now Costa Rica but the trips have been years apart. I feel extremely comfortable in the water and have blown a lot of bubbles.

This year, in getting ready for Costa Rica I was hanging out a the bottom of a pool and realized I just love diving. There is a great little community of divers here in Southern Idaho and I got to go on a club dive yesterday in a beautiful spring fed lake. After paying for rentals and a sitter I decided it's time to get some gear and push to dive more regularly.

In the grand history of forums I want to start a thread where I can pop in with trip reports, questions, and updates. If you dive in Southern Idaho or surrounds I'd love to hear about it!

Southern Idaho covers Pocatello to Boise. Redfish is spring fed but you have to be a little whack to dive there.

A very good friend who opened the original Dive Magic in Twin Falls accompanied me on her first trip ever out of the USA went on to be a Course Director before she went to work for PADI still lives in Belleview.

Small world.
