Went diving last week. Seas a little windy in the morning, picking up more in the afternoon. scratched a 3rd dive at the Lib ship on the way back into Wilmington.
1st Dive: Markham. Had trouble hooking the wreck, but once we got it we went down quick. Shared it with some spear fishers. Good conditions, water is warming up nicely with a thermocline in the mid 60s at about 40 feet. Visibility was high, at least 60 feet, probably more. Got one sandbar shark (approx 6 feet or so) on the wreck. Grouper, Amberjack, and spadefish too.
2nd Dive: Hyde. Best dive on the Hyde yet. Visitibilty was incredible- from the center tower could see to both the bow and the stern. Life abundant- more of the same from the Markham, but with Sand tigers too. Saw a 6 ft Sand tiger, 3 foot juvenile, and another 6 foot sandbar, this one with a lure in it's mouth. First time I have ever been able to see the Buoy from the stern of the ship.
Sharks are comin' back! A great day of diving!
