Hey Guys I'm going to be in St Thomas :14: In July of this year for a week!!!!! I'm looking for a good dive operation. Is there going to be anyone else down at that time? I'm going down with my famliy, but noone else dives. I'm staying in a condo on Sapphire Beach!!!!!!!

Through SB research the most recommended seemed to be Blue Island Divers. I am diving with them in March. They were super attentive and responded quickly to emails. BUT...I found out recently that there was just some turnover and it might be under new management now...so we'll have to see if affects the service. Since I'm going before you I'll let you know what my experience was with them. Look out for my trip reports in early April.

I'll be diving with St.Thomas DiveClub end of this month. I'll try and let ya know how it works out.

I've stayed at Sapphire a couple of times and used the dive shop located right there at the resort, Welcome to Dive In! Scuba Diving St Thomas US Virgin Islands ( USVI ). .I thought they were great and I highly recommend them. I will be on St John from july 4-11 and maybe on St thomas for the 12-14. Dive in says they will pickup divers at the park service dock on St John so if you want to dive send me a pm , Come on over to St John if you can and explore for a day, some of the best snorkeling I have found anywere yet.

2 of my best friends own and operate Admiralty Dive Center. They recently certified me and, friends or not, I would recommend them because they love what they do and they really strive to give theur customers the best experience possible.

Blue Island and Admiralty are both in town. The OP is staying in Sapphire Beach on the East End. It's about a 20-30min. drive back to Charlotte Amalie (depending on traffic) for those not familiar with the area.

We also dove with Dive In, their boat is in the marina behind the resort and they're a good outfit. Did a couple of interesting dives in the Grass Cay area, one was a fast drift. Pretty shallow too and they weren't at all concerned about how long we stayed down. Just 4 of us as I recall also but that may've been due to the time of year - late April. Another much closer option would be Chris Sawyer's in Red Hook. They go out to the BVI's on Friday and dive the Rhone. It's an all day trip and you'll need a passport.

After doing the rest of our training in the U.S., on our honeymoon my wife & I did our last check-out dives on a private charter with Admiralty Dive in April '06; we were very happy with them. Patient, reassuring, really put my nervous wife at ease.

Richard.
