I'll be in New York next week. Any good address for a dive shop to have a look at?

Accessories would be the best way to describe it. Something like knives, flashlights, reels, SMBs ... that kind of stuff.

You could take some time and visit the in-famous LeisurePro. It's at 42W 18th street. Just above Adorama Cameras (owns LP). A little door to the right of the camera shop; third floor. You will find the experience very interesting, as it is an LDS (although others may disagree).

Best of luck is whatever you decide.

Dive Smart; Dive Safe
Enjoy the ride

europeans on a short stay tend to like leisure pro because of the prices and the selection. i got some german friends coming and it ranks very high on their list of things to see and do. for the more tekkie stuff they go to village divers.

for the info.

I'll look around a little bit :ogle:

one more thing: if you are interested in going to leisure pro you should go to their website and make a list of what you want. the store displays only a fraction of their inventory but if you know what you want they will get it for you from the catacombs within minutes.

An additional bit of info. leisure pro is closed friday afternoon and saturday due to the jewish sabbath. it is definately the cheapest dive shop in the "world". not kiddi ng, and they do allow for returns if things are not working . the rumor that they don't is untrue. a buddy of mine has a an oceanic reg that was faulty and they replaced it , no charge , no hassle.
