Thanks for the first hand report. Good info to couple with the forecasts. Freediving this morning in the area.

Forecasts indicate that it's going to lay down tomorrow (Sunday). It might be worth sleeping in a bit as it will get better as the day goes on. I've stayed out the last three days, but I'm gonna go tomorrow.

It did lay down quite nicely. We got the whaler down to Carmel Bay. 70-80 foot vis at Black Dog Ridge, 60 feet at Outer Butterfly House.

Alrighty then. I'll have a go at it next week, assuming the forecast cooperates. It was a very nice day, spent either topside or underwater. Glad a few of you got in some great dives!

Wow, incredible vis, Chuck. What depths did you find that vis? I dove out to about 700 yds from shore out of the Lover's Pt area. Had a hazy 15' on avg at about 30-35'. Some spots opened up to a hazy 30' max at times at 40-50'.

Carmel typically has better vis than the Monterey side. For me I have NEVER had a great dive at Lovers. After two days of diving we spent today driving South from Carmel to Big Sur. It was an absolutely gorgeous day. The water clarity from the bluffs looked incredible. With glassy water most of the day and hardly any swell action many places looked shore diveable. Someday I might have to dive that area from shore.

Great info guys. Learning everyday. Makes me wish I ventured down to Garrapata.
