A buddy and I found a true dugout canoe on Sanborn Key on Lighthouse reef in Belize. We tossed our gear in, off we paddled out to the reef, chunked everything in the water, slid into our gear and off we go on a great dive. Surface and now the fun really begins. Long story short after a few flips and dunks this is how it works; 1 person hangs on to one side while the other hops in the other side, no problem so far. The person in the water shoves the gear up into the canoe while the person in the canoe keeps from tipping over and everything going back in (tip; make sure there is enough air in the BC to keep it on the surface!) After all the gear is on board the second person pulls themselves into the canoe while the first person leanes as far to the other side as possible without tipping the canoe over. If at first you don't succeed keep trying until you're too tired and then just push the canoe back to shore! Dive Safe- Dive Alot-M
