To Preface this post, I’m a seventeen year old kid who has the chance to do a “senior trip” with my family. I’ve been diving for five years with my family and these year we are looking for a bucket list dive. But I currently only have a very crude idea of how to plan a dive trip outside of the US. For now though I’m just looking for suggestions from divers regarding natural phenomena and locations that are worth diving in June- July. So far my ideas are Maldives, Marshall Islands, Palau, and Christmas islands.

If you are like my own teenager kids, you may not have first established a budget.
Not just of money, but also of time.
Also it would help us to help you if you list what you and family can already do, such as Dive currents, underwater photography, etc.

Where have you been diving with your family for the past number of years?

And when you share your budget please provide some details, how many people (adults and children)? How many days will you have for the trip including travel time? Does the budget include airfare or just accommodations, food, and diving?

You are talking about traveling from the Eastern US to the South Pacific - that is a long trip - you will need to figure in travel time and costs.

@Vinay, Just to show that I am not just an annoying grownup with nothing but practical suggestions, I offer this photo af my teenage r diving with a baby seal that is nibbling her fin. Not lap of luxury vacation but she does branch out in her dive training.

Ok I understand the need to establish a budget so far it’s around 30,000 for a family of four. The budget is rather flexible since it’s been accounted for 5 years in advanced. My primary focus was just to have an idea of what is out there to see or do. Primarily I have interests in diving on reefs.
All members are adults 18 and older. The trip is planned to be around 1-2 weeks. So far everything is flexible in terms of time and length of trip. The budget does include airfare.

Well Maybe you will get to visit Boston and our Friendly Seals Some Other Trip.
But for your trip, I recommend this thread talking about Palau and Indonesia, and you may want to do a SB search on reef hook diving, since the currents are stronger than Florida.
Help me choose where to dive in Asia/pacific
Also, anywhere Communist China does not allow its citizens to go is less crowded and might have some awesome deals due to being less crowded:Palau seeks help to counter China 'tourist ban' | The Express Tribune
Best Wishes!

That's a generous budget, if all of your family are divers have you considered a liveaboard trip?

Hi @Vinay

Where have you and your family dived already, looks like you are from Florida (or Forida :))?. What is the level of experience for all the divers, level of training/# of dives? You have only listed 0-24 dives in your profile. Are you looking for a land-based trip with or without other things to do, or are you considering a liveaboard, or both?

That's a good budget Vinay. Too bad you don't have more time. Considering the flight lengths to your locations, perhaps you should chose no less than 2 weeks.
