Hello all! hubby and I are leaving tomorrow morning for Florida and while we will be down there, we will be doing our check out open water dives, and we were wondering if we are allowed to bring our diving knifes in the luggages going in the luggage compartment? We would NOT bring those on board. They are dive knifes, with a blunt tip (not pointy).

I know I read on the airplane website that passengers are allowed to bring fire arms given they have the correct paper work, but only if the weapons are in the luggage compartment under the plane, and NOT on board. They didn't say anything about knifes tho.

I throw all my sharp instruments into checked luggage from pocket knives to dive knives and haven't ever had an issue. I didn't even bother to declare them, which is a rule for firearms not "weapons".

Taking knives in checked is no problem with the TSA.
Interesting to read the list again. Nice to see they have come to some reality, no more taking 2 in high plastic arm men because they were holding a molded on rifle.
