I would like to share the video I took while diving off La Paz and Cabo San Lucas. I was suppose to go to the Bahamas for tiger sharks but due to hurricane Matthew plans changed to Mexico. I didn't have tiger sharks there but some great encounters with smooth hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, silkies and sea lions. I hope you enjoy the video.

Cool video! Thanks for sharing.

I'm thinking of going there & Cabo Pulmo. When would be the right time of the year?

Really liked your video! Those were some amazing close encounters. I was laughing out loud at the nippy sea lions. Hilarious!

Thanks for sharing! Does it hurt when those seals bite?

It really depends what you want to see. I heard that visibility is not good in Cabo Pulmo in Spring. I was suppose to go this time in November. Some bull sharks already showed up but due to bad weather we couldn't go. Also there is a chance for scalloped hammerhead in the months of October and November.

Sea lions up at la paz (los islotes) you have all year round and I think you also see wale sharks almost all year but there is a peak season. however I don't know when that is.

As for shark diving down in Cabo anything can show up anytime. We weren't expecting a smooth hammerhead to show up as it isn't the season but still there was one. If you want to see Mako and Blue Sharks the colder months are probably the best months (Feb, Mar, Apr) plus you have whales during that time. May you have the best variety with hammerheads, still makos, mobulas. silkies are year round but like I said anything can show up anytime. In September they had Orcas, Makos still in the summer months.

As long you close your fist it is fine. Sometimes it can hurt a little and you get a scratch mark but it's not bad, it is all playfull...like with a young puppy dog. I certainly wouldn't recommend trying it with big male sea lions (in the beginning of the video) though.

Fantastic stuff! I have never seen a smooth hammerhead, especially one that friendly! Was there any secret sauce in that chum that fired it up like that?
It was my first smooth hammerhead as well and it stuck around forever. Maybe there was some secret sauce in the chum ;-) Actually we had to leave first because it was getting dark and weather was getting bad as well.
