Good day all, I searched sulfur but could only come up with threads about diving down to the sulfur layer. Went diving last night and buddy and I both could distinctly smell / taste sulfur near the bottom. I just want to make sure this isn't a health hazard?
I noticed it last time, but wrote it off as I had just had sinus surgery (and sometimes after surgery my nose lies), but after last night I'm certain there's a "rotten egg smell". And was confirmed by buddy.
I guess a little water gets in the mask and from there the smell / taste is pretty evident. If I didn't know better, I'd say my gas started to taste like sulfur (that's what it felt like anyway, best way to describe it), but I know that's not true, it just must have been the residual left in my mask / nose.
Anybody have anything to say? Dangerous or not?
Thanks!
