So.. what's the deal with diving in Singapore? I notice that many threads talk about flying out of singapore to other locations for good diving. Is there no domestic diving in Singapore?

I ask as work has floated a job in Singapore and i'm toying with taking it, but was curious what the deal with diving is for the local population.

Any detail would be appreciated.

Cheers

I have a friend who is currently living in Singapore. Apparently the diving off the local beaches is not very good -- no reef, poor viz -- but they get on liveaboards that leave Friday night, and they dive all Saturday and Sunday and come back. They can reach great sites that way, and it isn't expensive.

There is diving in singapore. .. but we have low vis. Maybe 1-3 m on a good day. We have interesting things. . But takes alot of effort to find them. But as u say. .. we are a good place to fly off to other parts of the south east Asia. . Ie... philipines, indonesia, thailand etc. ..

We dive local waters when its off season in SEA. like from end nov to Feb

About working in sg. We are not a cheap place to stay and live. Do reseaech on those before u come
