If you are looking for a good dive shop I would recomend Scuba 10. They are a new shop so their gear is in very good shape. The owners (Gerardo and Irene) however have alot of expreience. They both use to work at another local dive shop. I just returned from a week of diving and had a great time. They are located on 10th Ave between 10th and 12th Calle just a few doors down from Coco Bongo.

Do they have a website? I was unable to them with a google search.

Yes the site is scuba10.com Gerardo told me the site was only in spanish right now but when I visited the site google gave me an option for translation

Thanks so much for the post. I was wondering where Irene went. She and her husband are two of the most respected divers in the PDC area. I understand that they taught most of the local DMs over the years. I had the chance to dive with Irene when she and her husband were with GeoFish and I must say she has been my favorite DM in PDC. I will check out Scuba 10 in FEB/2010.
Ed when are you going in Feb. we are going to be back the around the second week and planning to dive with Gerardo and Irene

Please post your Trip Report; we're going in April!

If Jason can't take you call The Abyss and ask for Todd (if he is still around). You will be very happy with both.

I really like Geofish, beautiful boat, new equipment, competitive prices, and very very reliable. Abyss is also very good.

We just got back from Playa Del Carmen yesterday, dove with Abyss. Ben, Nick and Cory (our guides/DM's) were awesome. David the owner is great too, nice easy shop to deal with. I can't recommend the cenotes enough, these guys know them really well. Overall great experience.
