Hi everyone, i am new to diving and I was hoping to get some advice before my trip to Playa del carmen. I am heading down in about a week and need to complete my open water certification and would like to complete my advanced open water at the same time. However there seem to be about 10 places down there listed on the web. Has anyone been down to Playa del carmen and found a provider that is really really good?

Cheers,
Wade

Wade - if you get your buoyancy dialed in pretty well in your first few dives, you should try to dive a cenote. There are beautiful reefs to dive all over the world, but cenotes are specific to that area of Mexico. I did Dos Ojos a couple of weeks ago and it was great. The water was so clear, you couldn't tell you were in water - it was like FLOATING through a cave!

Just make SURE you've got BC down pretty well before you try it!
