Hello,
I just joined this forum following the advise a former DM i met in Gili Island gave me and I am looking for some help.
I am looking for a nice place where to dive in Malaysia. I was thinking about Redang which is quite easy to reach by plane but i didn't find what i was looking fo so far.
Is this mission impossible, i cannot believe that.
To give you some more indications about the places we like, we loved very much Gili islands. We stayed in Gili Air at Biba beach hotel and dove with Manta Dive.
We enjoyed as well Koh Nang Yuang in Thailand and of course Koh Phi Phi.

Do you think i could find a small but nice hotel in Redang close to a diving center? Otherwise would you have any other idea to share?
Thanks a million for your feedbacks.

Hi Daniel,

I have dived Redang several times over the past 20 years and it is getting busier.

You need to fly to Kuala Terrenganu first and most likely overnight there before taking a boat over to P. Redang.

The place I always use is REDANG BAY RESORT - Best Resort in Redang Island | Pulau Redang | Redang Island | Resort | Accomodation | Snorkelling | Diving you can negotiate a good dive package with them and there is a great house reef with shallow 10M diving for long dives and night dives only 50M walk from the dive center.

Some of the boat dives are pretty good, really depends on tides etc.

Good Luck on your plans

Thanks Searcaigh. I will contact them. In the meantime i contacted Kalong Resort. Hope they are ok.
Thanks for you help and advises

Hello Tammy/ Sipadan looks great for sure, but i was a bit reluctant because of the permit needed to dive there and the hotel rates which are very high.
any good advice?

Hi daniels45

which hotels and DCs have you tried? And what type of lodging are you looking for? rustic? full service? resort?

usually the Sipadan permits are all taken up by the DCs, so if you want to dive in Sipadan you have to go through them.
