Aloha, We are Hilo Scuba Diving. A Dive shop in Hilo Hawaii. We wanted to let you all know a bit about diving on the East side of Hawaii Island. The coral is in great condition here dur to the cold water runoff. There are lots of green sea turtles where we usually dive, and you can also see eels, octopus, and the occasional shark.. The fish life is also abundant. he water temp is usually about 75-77 degrees. We recommend a 3 mil wetsuit here, but many people dive with a shortie or no wetsuit at all. Our company, Hilo Scuba Diving, offers shore dives, as well as SCUBA certification courses for all levels of diver from Beginner to Divemaster and everything in between. The dive location is Waiolena Beach Park. The entry here is a little challenging due to the fact that there are some rocks to scurry down when entering. However, it is worth the challenge and most people have no problem with the entry and exit.
