Diving in Gili Trawagan and surrounding area

Hello all ~

I am contemplating spending a week or so (last week of June, 2014) diving in the Gilis. I will probably take the Open Water course while there. If anyone has experience on or around Trawagan, I'd love to hear any advice you have to share in terms of best dive company, best accommodation, and best dive sites to cover while there.

I might also be interested in finding a dive buddy for that week as I am likely to be traveling as a single at that point in time. Just joined SB.com, and look forward to learning from all of you.

Hello, I am a beginner myself too, but all the divers I met highly recommend Manta Dive (SSI) in Gili Trawangan.
I stayed in Villa Ombak, but I believe Manta Dive has accommodation too.
You should not have problem finding a buddy if you join the course.

I can very much recommend Trawangan Dive. Very pleasant diveshop with safety and funminded instructors.
