Goes to show you my inexperience...I didn't know those wrecks existed and I am in awe that y'all actually dive them!
Maybe one day for me but for now I will stick to the recreational dives! Gee, considering the controversy I have seen between DIR & other divers (I am not DIR)....plus the fact that I am a newbie...maybe I should just meet y'all for drinks! ;-0
By the way WW, do you personally know people at Brownie's? After receiving my AOW and reading some of the post on the board, I was curious about DIR. I went to the GUE site to read up on DIR. I sent an e-mail asking for more info (which they gave me great links), local dive ops/classes. They gave me an e-mail address to Brownie's (more convenient for me) and a place up in the middle of the state. So before I bought my equipment, I tried to contact Brownie's via e-mail to ask a few questions about concepts, gear & training. I figured I would check all aspects of diving out before shelling out $$$ for gear. They pretty much blew me off in their responding e-mail by telling me to go to the GUE site if I had questions.
Kind of turned me off to DIR. I haven't looked at it again which is a shame because I originally liked some of the concepts. Maybe I got someone on a bad day?
