Scuba Steve,

PM me if you’re interested in wreck and reef diving in Pattaya. The water is warm and if you know what to look for the "local" BKK diving is pretty good. 2 hours from BKK. If money is not a concern or time, go for the Andaman this time of year. There are general seasons, but Pattaya is okay to dive year round. Strong current can be a challenge and you need to be sharp on navigation, but then again this makes it more fun in some ways.

29c-30c on average with vis in the 4-8m range is realistic. If you love to dive, it is worth it. The Hardeep for example is well worth the trip IMO.

Based on your post, it sounds like Pattaya may work for you.

I have to agree - head to Khao Lak and go out with Sea Dragon on a liveaboard - the diving is phenomenal! On our last dive we saw a giant Manta!

I saw a huge Manta on my first dive!
