Diving Gran Canaria

I will be in Las Palmas in a couple of weeks and was hoping to go diving one morning while I'm there (20-22 October). Any recommendations on dive sites/dive shops? North or South? Thanks in advance!

I've got quite a few recommendations for Rubicon in Lanzarote, for a few different ops in Tenerife and for Dive Academy in Gran Canaria. Since I'm not planning on going to Gran Canaria, I haven't followed up on Dive Academy, but the OP may want to read the trip reports on the BSAC site

I dived with Davy Jones in Arinaga couple of years ago, well-run establishment, good dives. They pick you up anywhere in the Island, so you won't have to hunt for parking.

I also went diving with DavyJones. First time in 2009, than 2012. Good place. Nice people. Arinaga is close to Las Palmas.

Davy Jones will take to you a nice land based dive site. Been there, done that. Happy! Went on a quiet day, so the guide took us into a cavern. A really nice dive!

Can't help you with finding a dive shop, sorry. Just wanted to let you that more than 20 years ago I did dive there and met the biggest barracuda I ever saw. We were diving along a cliff, he was following, as we were screening him : smaller fishes didn't see him that way. He got quite a mouthful that day. An amazing memory. It's was a dive site not far from Araniga if I remember correctly.
