Yes, last year. There were multiple sightings about then, and a surfer got bit (and survived).
A couple weeks after Linda and I saw it, a couple of fellows were spearfishing on Aumentos when
the landlord swam up. They poked it in the nose with their spear tips and it took off. They
swam up in the kelp, surfaced and shouted down a passing boat to take them out to their boat.

I did remember someone telling me about that encounter. That when the diver came back off the dock, he ran into some other divers and they said he was pale white in the face.

Something about him not ever wanting to dive again or in that area. It must of been some encounter; I can only imagine the scene, but something like bumping into it in only 10-15 feet of visibility would be enough for me.

I have all the respect for the landlord and I haven't even ventured into the areas where he has been seen. I would only salute the divers that have gotten a glimpse of such an awesome force of nature.

Aumentos, where is that actually? I have only heard of it around Lovers and Bluefish cove...
