I recently saw this big spider crab with a claw reach that was easily 18" to 24" inches and he meant business, reaching out with those long claws. How do you catch a crab with long claws like this one?

hahahahaha Uncle Pug,

Why?

Lots of meat in those big claws.

I guess the winner gets the all you can eat buffet. :)

As a rookie scuba crabber, I could have appreciated that info a year ago much more, PUG. We checked, even though we rarely found crab. As a beginner in the game of plucking, I found our rewards of Selective limitation very rewarding. But then again, it was Alaska.
I yearn for those dives, even after returning from Bonaire.

Spider crab: also known as sheep crab.

Ok, I was exaggerating about the "buffet".

It seems to me their claws get longer with age. The one I saw had much larger claws then the largest one in these pictures.
