I'm stuck 2000+ km from the coast for 6 week periods and wonder what diving DVD's can people recommend to help me get through these dry periods?

I realised today that I have been watching every episode of the BBC's Blue Planet series at least once every week, that this behaviour is slightly worrying, and that its probably time for a change….

Any recommended documentaries or movies that I can grab on Amazon? I’ll track down Deep Sea Detectives/Sea Hunters (although neither are on any tv stations I receive here so I have no idea if they are any good) but would love to hear any other recommendations to get my diving fix…

Cheers,
Rohan.

Dive Portal DVD http://www.diveportaldvd.com/

Only the first one is out, but I believe they were down at DAN a week or so ago filming for the third issue, so I'm hopeful #2 is out before too long.

I agree. Dive Portal DVD is definitly one. You might also want to look into Mysteries Of The Deep (The best of Undersea Explorers).

Have you watched Deep Blue?

The Jacques Cousteau Odyssey includes all 12 episodes of the 1978 television series and more specifically the DVD of "Calypso's Search for Atlantis". I have seen it several times, and always find it fascinating.
