My wife and I are heading to Cabo over Labor Day weekend and plan to do some diving while there. I have read many great things about Gordo Banks, but it appears that the chance of seeing any macrolife (read: hammerheads) is hit or miss with the emphasis on "miss." It also appears that the hit or miss depends on the season. Given the lengthy trip, I'd hate to commit to Gordo Banks only to end up disappointed. Can anyone give some insight? Is Sept. a good time to hit Gordo Banks? Will the dive ops know better?

Cabo Pulmo seems to be a safer choice in that most people rave about the variety of marine life large and small.

If you only had a few days in Cabo, would you do Gordo Banks or Cabo Pulmo?

Thanks in advance for any response.

Hurricane Henriette interrupted our plans. I wish I could have dove either site. Alas, Mother Nature had different plans for us.
