Diving Colombia

Greetings everyone,

Happy New Year to all! I recently found out that I will be traveling to Colombia late this year (Dec. 28, 2011) into early next year. I was wondering if anybody here knows where the best dive spots are in the country? I've heard Cartagena & Barranquilla are pretty good and was hoping someone here could give me greater insight.

Is there anyone who lives in Colombia or who will be there around that time that would be willing to be my dive buddy? Are any dive items used for diving in California (i.e. dive knifes) that are not allowed?

I would be appreciative of any input you guys could give me.
