My family is planning a get together down in the Charlotte area the week of Christmas and I was wondering if there is any local diving that time of year? I am not adverse to traveling a bit to get to a dive site if needed.

I am a Northeast Diver and have a drysuit if needed. I have over 300 dives under my belt under various conditions.

Any help or suggestions would be appreciated!

Were you trying to get to the ocean? Long drive from Charlotte...5 plus hours. You might try NC Divers for advice on local quarries and such.

I checked out your pictures... Is that you going through the ice? Pretty cool pic!

As to diving in the Charlotte area, we do have a couple of quarry's in the area (within 10-15 miles of downtown) but not much lake diving... Lake Jocassee SC is @ 2.5 hours away and the shore is @ 4+ hours away.
