Been to Bonaire several times. Between your choices i would go with Buddy's. Plaza Resort Bonaire (ocean Front) is also a good choice - Get the killer breakfast buffet and you will not need lunch. Toucan diving is topnotch.

Thanks for the info. My wife, and 3 1/2 year old daughter will be staying at Buddy 2/28 - 3/6, and it will be our first time. We almost booked Eden Beach (because of the beach) but at the last minute switched to Buddy. We are just hoping to find other couples on the island at the same time that we can have 'play dates' with.

3 visits to Divi, 1 to Buddy
1. Reef is slightly better at Buddy. DiviÃÔ reef: after 15-20 min swim North along very nice reef you approach pier area with some junk on a bottom and (sometimes) hull of a cruise ship above. Divers are discouraged from swimming along the pier but I donÃÕ think it is enforced. Reef is nice and unlimited to the South from DiviÃÔ pier. BuddyÃÔ reef: You can swim both directions w/o limits. North - all the way along Captain Don reef and Cliff (miniwall from 20 to 50 ft). South - you can cover all Bari reef as well. But generally you will see the same marine life at Divi and Buddy. Boat dives are priced about the same but limited to 45 min at Divi and 60 min at Buddy. DiviÃÔ boats run North, South, Klein. BuddyÃÔ mostly North and Klein (with the exception of Hilma (S) once a week)
2. Never stayed at oceanview. Stayed at studio apt at both. Liked Divi better than Buddy. My non diving wife definitely prefers Divi for resort atmosphere. Buddy is all about diving.
3. Food at Divi is good but nothing special, moderately priced. Never tried BuddyÃÔ restaurants.
4. Small store close to Buddy sells drinks and dry snacks. Several stores within 10 min from Divi have also fruits variety of cold cuts etc.
5 and 6. For the same price I would stay at Divi but if Buddy is $200-300 cheaper for a week IÃÍl go with them. I also liked personal lockers at Divi (and they are back after Omar) more then shared equipment room at Buddy. One day we walked all the way from Buddy to Divi and back. It is nice walk when it is not too hot or rainy, mostly along the shore, takes about 45 min each way. We also rented car during all visits. We had leaky roof at Buddy (kitchen area) but it did not bother us much. We also had lots of mosquitoes in our room at Buddy and it bothered us a lot on a first night. We asked stuff to spray the room and we still saw some mosquitoes left and we bought a can of bug spray and did it again and they finally all died and we then had 6 quiet nights. Dive shop stuff is very good at both

Buddys rooms are in better shape than divi. Buddy's food at the lions den is not good value for your $ but taste is ok. Shore diving at Buddy's is better than divi after the hurricane. Better reef to the left at Beri's but the right to Cpt Dons has plenty of stuff to see too. We did a shore dive in front of Buddy's just about every day we were there including 4 nite dives. many of the rooms have a view of some kind. our first truck would not idle until it was warm but we were able to exchange it the next day. the cattle boats but once in the water it was ok. the shore diving is about as convenient as you can get.
