Does the Divi on Cayman Brac require a check out dive?

Doesn't seem likely as we arrive Saturday night, prepaid for six 2-tank morning dives and depart the next Saturday. So don't know when we would squeeze one in.

The Divi on Bonaire did require on - that was what brought on my question. That and the fact that I really could use one.

Thanks,
dd

The check out dive is a Bonaire thing, as opposed to a Divi thing.

There is no check out dive at Divi in Brac. It's done in Bonaire due to the park. See if you can check in at the dive shop when you get in Saturday night, and get your name on one of the boat boards. Otherwise do it first thing in the morning. Boats usually leave around 8:30.

When you get situated with your room, go to the dive shop to check in and while you are there just tell them that previously at Bonaire you had a checkout dive which made you feel comfortable and they will help you choose a shallow boat dive to start with, maybe "Sargent Major" or "Tapon Reef" or a dive in which you can choose shallow or deep farther down the south east side. If that is quite choppy that day, which it is usaully not, the north side of the island offers many shallow sites, like "greenhouse reef", and "plymouth rock". If you get to go on the north side and dive shallow, if you go torwards shore on the hard pan you can find plenty of Scorpian fish living amonst the cracks and crevices.
