Hello to all divers who read this:
Lately, I have been doing substantial reading on the topic of the current conditions of the oceans and have becomed alarmed at what is happening to them. I have come to believe very strongly that we, as divers, have a responsibility to help care for the oceans and the life they contain. We have all had the opportunity to dive in the oceans and seas and have all seen the beauty beneath the surface. I want two ask a question of every diver:
Do you believe that divers can and/or should take a leading role in helping to preserve and protect our oceans?
If so, how can we best educate non-divers about oceanic preservation?
I believe that we should but yet, don't want to become militant about it and/or force my beliefs as what I believe should be done onto other individuals. I guess I'm just wonder how other divers feel about this topic.
Anyone care to share their thoughts?
Thanks, Richard
