The following was posted on Yahoo!7 on October 27 at 10:07 am (WA time)

'A Perth scuba diver says he will go back in the water, despite a close encounter with a shark' - refer Diver's close call with shark. This has already been reported in other media within Australia, however some of these reports suggested that the affected diver was actually a freediver.

So, a 'big' shark went after the guy and had him by the fins, which it substantially damaged. Wonder how big it was, and what species?

Richard.

And what we might learn from this???

If a big shark grabs your fin, let him have it!

Large shark bites diver's fin off WA

Later yesterday afternoon another surfer reported having been circled on his board down around Dunsborough way and there is a swimmer missing who was caught in a rip last night. Not a hopeful scenario but they guy who had his fins nibbled had a lucky encounter if it was a shark, which has not been confirmed of any species yet.
