Please remember that the criminal laws of each nation differ, and are based on different longstanding traditions and concepts. Also, a decision to charge is not a determination of guilt. Finally, any media story, in Malta or in the US is the WORST source for information it seems. Reporting has lost out to editorializing. Don't read too much into this.

I do agree with U , as a diving profesional aspecialy guideing novices (dsd s) an intructor has to be able to establish a physical contact with all his divers within seconds , loseing one of them due to bad visibility is not an excuse and shows negligence in his/her actions and as follows can be exposed to a lawsuit.And that particular one resolved in fatality.

There's your problem right there. It's amazing how often in these stories the diver is using an oxygen tank.

You see how accurate journalists are when reporting on something that you actually know about. Do you think they're any better reporting on something that you don't know about?
