My condolences to friends, family, and buddies of the deceased.

I don't think anyone was offended. The reason for the rule is so that a family member doesn't stumble into the forums via Google and read about their loved one's death in a candid manner.

Everyone here wants to learn from the incident but they're also good about respecting the people directly involved.
