Dude worked for the WMD... I was wondering how he got to dive Silver Springs... they haven't let divers in there for ages...

Pete was snorkeling and taking water samples as part of his work for the state. He was not diving. He's actually doing fine, will probably need a few surgeries, and will a have great story for years to come!

They did what they should have. Most gators are scared of people. If you have one willing to attack a grown man, unprovoked, you have to put it down.

Think its a real shame that they killed the gator!:depressed::depressed:

Apparently, people have been feeding this gator for some time. Relocating it wasn't really an option.

"They dragged it to the dock where it was loaded up to be harvested." that's a hell of a euphemism.

Maybe not a euphemism. It is legal to harvest gators in Florida at times. Perhaps they fed him to people instead of him feeding on people. I don't understand why it's OK for him to eat us, but we can't eat him.

People hate being lower on the food chain.

Unless there is a nest close by then the

gator male or female is very protective of the nest. And they were in a place where they were not supposed to be right? Take the gator to a gator farm !

And when i was growing up i used to swim in a canal in Seminole ALA with a 14 ' gator in the same canal never bothered me or anyone else
