Major Changes: Local logbook, support for bluebuddy / Tech Buddy, local dive sites
Installer: divepal_installer_r20130404.exe available HERE.
- divePAL now allows you to maintain a completely local logbook.
- When creating or importing a new dive log, it will be a local log.
- You can see the status of a log based on the icon in the top right corner on the log list.
- Blue ((*)) means "Stored on divePAL server.
- Blue \/ means "Local log"
- Green ( ) means "Syncronized log"
- Orange (/) means "Syncronized log out of sync"
- To share a log with others or synchronize it with other devices through our severs, upload it using the "Share" button in the bottom right corner.
- Changes made to the log will remain local until you synchronize it using the same share menu.
Local sites support
- You may now define sites and use sites locally on your computer without proposing them to the divePAL server.
- Sites that you use from the divePAL server will be cached locally for faster searching and retrieving.
bluebuddy / Tech Buddy Support
- requires Windows 8 and Bluetooth 4 adapter
- DiveNav's bluebuddy dive logger is now available as a device in the "Download from Computer" log menu.
- Windows 8 users will have the option to download and install bluebuddy drivers during installation. These drivers are also available seperately from http://www.divecomputertraining.com/red ... nstall.exe
- The menu for downloading from this device works the same as any other device.
- Ensure that the bluebuddy is paired with your computer through the Windows Settings "Devices" menu before downloading.
Other
- Added the ability to comment on other users logs and see comments others have made. Only available for logs shared through divePAL.
- New and changed data fields available for logs.
- Logs may now have an icon associated with them. Select any image from your computer to use as the icon.
- Icons will also appear on the log list on the left side bar.
- Icons must be less than 100kb to upload to divePAL servers.
- 48x48 is the recommended image dimensions for icons.
- Equipment section now contains fields for Wetsuit, BCD, and weights.
- The way of inputing tank information has been changed.

- divePAL will attempt to automatically determine the type of tanks entered in the old format (though accuracy is not 100% guaranteed).
- Added "Surface Temperature" field to conditions section.
- Dive sites now have a "Water Type" and "Rating" field. Water type indicates salt or fresh water, and rating allows users to share their opinion on a site.
- Double clicking on the GPS coordinates of a dive site will open a Google Maps tab in your browser showing you the location of that dive site.
- GPS coorinates are underlined when the mouse hovers over them to highlight this feature.
- The "Air Mix" field in the dive summary panel now has a general overview of what type of air mix was used (nitrox, air, trimix, or multi-gas) instead of specific details.
- Sequences are now determined based on dive start and end times instead of users setting them up manually.
- When you open a log and divePAL determines that other logs may have occured in sequence before it, you will be prompted if you want to open those logs as well for analysis.
- You may open as many logs as your license level allows.
- Fixed a bug with SendMessage operation by flushing the output buffer to the device. Sometimes, it would not fully send and could hang or cause unexpected responses.
- Fixed some dives being misrecorded as CCR for one or two minor PPO2 mismatches in predator database importer. (Note: this is not a fix for a similar issue when importing from a Petrel).
- Changed analysis mode sidebar readout to "N/A" when air time is zero, or when air pressure is not available.
- Fixed a crash bug when attempting to analyze a dive with multiple tanks used if one or more had been deleted.
- As a result of these requirement changes, divePAL now requires Windows XP SP3 (previously any version of Windows XP would work).
