I am considering doing a divemaster course after graduation, and would really like to head to Australia to try something new. I'm really interested in something where I can work for my course, as money is kind of an issue, but any suggestions are most welcome. I'm only in the beginning stages of planning this, so anything you have to say is fabulous. I'm also interested in taking up some underwater videography, if there's any way to incorporate that as well....

most dive operations are more likely to go with a dive instructor than a divemaster. case in point, a liveaboard i was on last month did not teach non-divers (they did advanced or nitrox courses) yet all of the dive crew were instructors. the only staff who weren't at least instructor-qualified were the hostesses (housekeepers) who were DM's.

not to put you off, but it's supply & demand, and in australia the supply is very high.

your best bet is if you have some other skill (coxswains ticket, engineering, chef, etc) that the operation will want to hire you for.

good luck!
