And by the way it was Nov 2002 so it was 6+ years ago.

I rest my case. (Again.)

AZ -- Check it out. Pretty cheap considering it includes accommodations and 31 days of diving, plus two courses and the materials and gear rental.

With accommodations & PADI material you have a point. Its the PADI material most do not consider. It would be interesting to see if the OP dives with several in Pattaya and posts his/her thoughts. A competitive market indeed. Nice to have such choices.

LK,

Maybe put your glasses on and give senseful comments or just shut up. The link provided is of a shop in PTY, being Seaduction and has nothing to do with my signature links, in case you just would have bothered to open the link or in your case even notice that there was a link.

Aquanuats made a correct statement towards a post of yours and the only thing you can come up with is a load of crock, ever heard of the phrase; flogging a dead horse.
Folks know now what kind of gripes you have with PTY dive shops, especially a specific one. Can't you just stay out of threads without dragging and hitchhiking every thread you participate in back to your gripes with one shop in PTY. Not to mention over something that happened 6 years ago?

You're a master in alienating people from you, hats off to you for accomplishing nothing but just that.

I'd like to comment on the original post of getting your PADI DM in one week. This subject probably does not need alot more commenting on but...... I recently did my DM in the Philippines, and did my pre-study before hand, without said, I was in the water to some degree almost everyday, and if not in the water, doing some studying. I'll admit we took some longer lunches and it was not 'pedal to the metal', but anything more intense would have been more 'boot camp' like in comparison.

In the end I completed the course in about 32 days, including tropical storms and several 'give me a break days', altogether we did close to 40 dives as well.

So becoming a DM in one week, you might want to look around at some other dive shops!

Then again that's just my opinion!

Congratulations and I completely agree! It is supposed to be a real learning mentoring type course that should not be rushed. Considering the divers experience and capabilities can impact the length of the training. Individual confidence of the DMT ought to be another consideration. A week, I don't think so!

I certainly will let you know how I have got on, but I dont think I shall be moving forward to do the courses here in Pattaya.
I have done a few days diving over the last few weeks, and over the next couple of weeks I am maybe going to do some more. But from what I have seen up to now I am less than impressed with the Pattaya dive scene.

The weather has certainly turned the past few weeks. Always best to see things in person. Did you dive with the "Big Two"? Check out Samui and Tao as its still in season if you can.
