Did Diveland ever sell to anyone and is it open this season? It was my fav. quarry and I would like to dive it again.

Jeremy

I think it was pretty much closed. Great place to dive. But what I mean is I think it is open occasionally when the owner is there which what I understand is rare. I have some freinds from that area that used to dive there alot but last time I talk to them they said its rarely open....So I would call first Ill see if I can get a number if you dont have one.

Pass by this quarry everyday on my way to the college. To my knowledge it is shut down, it is still for sale, the owner did teach classes last year at the local YMCA so he probably does his checkout dives there. You might be able to make contact with him and get permission to dive or at least more information.

Yeah the gate to the place looks pretty run down. He may not even be using it as im pretty sure it is a Real Estate company from Georgia that has it up for sale.

I called John and got the answering machine, and it stated that Diveland Park is going to open the the end of April 08. It didn't say it would be restricted to groups but that depends on what John wants to do.

I think it might be OK. :)

Britt, are you sure that wasn't just the answering machine message from last year? (I mean it's possible unless he said 2008)

mike - i doubt it b/c i know when i was looking for a class last year i called and got a message thats said diveland would only be open to instructors with groups. Maybe it will be open sure would be nice
