Friday 10/10/14 Venture 3 from Belmar, NJ.

We had 8 divers on board and hit 3 locations.
Seas were calm, a slight chop with maybe a 1-2 foot swell. Bottom temp on all 3 dives 64-65. Surface temp 66.

First stop the Mohawk. We were thinking of maybe doing two dives here, depending upon what we found. Bottom was dark with 10-12 feet of visibility. Lots of sea bass (of course, season's closed!). A few triggerfish were taken and a couple of lobster. Not enough lobster to get excited about and we decided to visit a nearby rock pile for our second dive.

Captain Hepler found us a nice rock pile that would support 8 divers. The bottom was a little lighter with at least 15 feet of visibility, There are a lot of empty holes there now, that held lobsters yesterday.

Last stop was the 120 wreck. Viz was back to Mohawk style, dark and maybe 10-12 feet. A few lobsters didn't know about the deep holes and instead were in shallow holes. They won't make that mistake again.

General observation: I wasn't counting, but my guess is that for the lobsters I pulled out of holes, 2 out of 3 were eggers (and of course were quickly returned to their holes)

Weather permitting, we're planning to go out again next week, PM me if you'd like to join in the lobsterfest.
