So I have been saving for a dry suit, but now I would love to go to somewhere warm for a 5-7 day trip. What should I do?

Do most of my diving in Monterey, CA with a fair bit of diving farther north in the mendecino (sp?) area. Curently using a 7mm full suit. I only get cold after repetitive dives on a single day. I usually start to get cold on the 3-4 dive of the day.

Dry suit.

It'll last years and years and hundreds of dives.

As opposed to something thats a few dives for one week only.

Get the dry suit, and then you won't need to go somewhere warm to dive.

drysuit, for reasons stated

I picked up a BARE Nex-Gen suit with undergarment, hood, and Rock Boots (which I sold/did not fit) for $400. I sold the boots, and am now diving dry for about $350.

Granted, it's not a custom fitted DUI but it keeps me dry, and does everything a drysuit needs to do.

IMO however if you have a choice between a vacation now and a drysuit, get the suit. After my first dive, I was not so into the whole drysuit thing. Now after 5 dives with it.. I'M SOLD!!! Diving Dry IS the way to go IF you dive cold water.

Get the suit and dive often.
If I lived a reasonable distance from the CA coast I'd have to put bottom paint on my tanks and replace my weights with zincs.

Are you kidding??? DRY SYIT!!!!
