Yeah, I "dove" this site a few years ago. It was 5 teams of DIR divers and the most thorough briefing I've ever had. I felt pretty stupid with my bp/w and drysuit on. To be fair though, I really did think there was more than 7' of water there.

Doubles too!
deco gas hung?

you know, if you stand with your feet in 7-feet of water and your head out of
the water long enough, you could have partial DCS, since the pressure
differential is so dramatic.

that's why snorkeling is so safe, because you spread your entire body
horizontally, thus reducing the pressure differential.

several people have suffered DCS due to this. don't be next!

That's an excellent shot of a manatee. I'd photoshop the diver with 1/2 of his fin buried in the sand out though.
eandiver,
the diver's kind of the point of this thread. thanks for the comments though.

Back in Three Sistes, one of the springs descends to about 25 feet. Some people use it as a checkout dive site when its too crowded at Kings Spring.

I personally like to use my scuba gear so I can stay down while I'm driving spikes into the feet of people standing on the bottom of the river in their fins stirring up silt and ruining visability.

you know, it's been three weeks since i posted the following
and i can't belive no one has called B.S. on it ...

oh well

Another thing about the manatees, they're coming under fire from Florida state wildlife officials who want to downlist manatees from endangered species to just 'threatened'. This would translate to fewer restrictions on boating and development ie fewer regulations designed to protect the animal.
